artist tuesday: camille pissarro

For starters, I usually don’t put a picture of the artist on his/her respective Tuesday, but he just looks so dapper with his hat and Santa beard. Anyway, I’ve recently realized how much I owe to this man since he was a mentor and father figure to so many Impressionist and post-Impressionist artists, including Van Gogh, Cézanne and Gauguin. I mean this is the guy who inspired the artists who inspire m. He also reminds me of Monet, painting the same scene in multiple seasons and times, just like Monet’s waterlilies. Oh, and another fun fact: he was born in the Virgin Islands. How sweet is that? Anywho! Here’s a few of his pieces that share perspective, as well as a few that I just really love….
